An Act of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.

A Vocation View

HOLINESS IS A CHALLENGE for us all, whatever our specific vocations.

We are called to be holy in all aspects of our lives. This is an ongoing process, often slowed by setbacks.

When the saints were alive, they did not regard themselves as saints; rather, they knew they were sinners – and they strived to be saints.

The process of becoming holy is, even for saints, painful and filled with struggle. Know you are a sinner; strive to be a saint.

October: Month of the Holy Rosary

October: Month of the Holy Rosary

The month of the Holy Rosary is October and this entire month is dedicated to the Rosary.

On October 7th, the Church celebrates the feast day of Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary. The feast day was established by Pope Saint Pius V on the anniversary of the victory at Lepanto on October 7, 1571. The naval victory was attributed to the Virgin Mary whose intercession was entreated through the recitation of the Holy Rosary.

The Church then proceeded to dedicate the entire month of October to the Holy Rosary so that individuals, families, and communities would pray the Holy Rosary, if possible, on a daily basis for peace in the world. “Not only do we earnestly exhort...

Mary in the month of October

October is here, the middle of spring and a sign that the year is rapidly approaching its close. It is also a month where we especially call on Mary to help guide us on our path to follow her Son.

Did you know there have been 9 approved apparitions of Mary in the 20th century alone, the latest one being 1990? How much do you know about Mary and her desire to help and intercede for us? Why not take some time to understand why Mary is so active in the world and what she is asking of us.

So, in this Marian month of October try to take some time and spend it with your strongest supporter in your faith, Mary, our holy mother.

Formed.org provides you with a wide selection of programs, videos and books, to suit your choice. Here is a small selection you might like to try.

Celebrating World Mission Month

October is recognised in the Catholic Church as World Mission Month, a time when Catholics all over the world join to support and celebrate global missionary work. Catholic Mission, as the Australian arm of the Pontifical Mission Societies, plays a vital role. ‘What Catholic Mission and the international network of Pontifical Mission Societies can do, is to help some of the most vulnerable people in the world’, says Catholic Mission Victorian Director, Kevin Meese. ‘This year we focus on the essential work of priests, religious and lay missionaries in Cambodia, supporting people with disability and their families.’
