Children's Sacramental Program - Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation
Children attending state or private schools are welcome to enrol into our catechetics programs for the sacraments of Reconciliation, Communion and Confirmation. The Parish acknowledges that parents are the first and foremost educators of their children, particularly in the faith, and plans its programs to assist parents in their role.
Each program is tailored to suit the needs of the children attending and provide them with information and experiences to develop their faith and knowledge of Jesus and His Church.
Each program requires weekly attendance at classes and some homework.
It is greatly encouraged that children are very familiar with the Mass. Attending weekly Mass as a family is one of the most important ways you can help your children understand the sacraments and follow what Jesus taught us to gather as a community and remember Him.
Led by our Musical Director and Organist, Jeffrey Heath, we have parishioners participating in the music ministry in a variety of ways - as vocal soloists, instrumentalists and choir members at both the Saturday/Sunday Masses and School Masses, as well as Sacramental Celebrations. Regular Choir Practices are held on Thursdays, 7:30pm, at Stella Maris Church. New members are always welcome, and can contact Jeffrey for more information at [email protected]
